Please note: Bach Flower Remedies and FES flower essences are noted respectively by (B) and (F). If you'd like to use flower essences in these combinations use 2-4 drops each.
Oils: Peppermint, Orange, Rosemary
Flower Essences: Blackberry (F), Indian Paintbrush (F), Iris (F), Nasturtium (F)
Oils: Two drops each of Bergamot,Geranium, Melissa, Orange.

Oils: 2 drops each of Rosemary, Lavender, Peppermint.

This subject really deserves an article all to itself, as we meditate for different reasons and intentions. The following oils are good all-purpose ones.
Two drops each of three of the following: Chamomile, Rosewood, Frankincense, Myrrh, Sandalwood, Vetiver.

If you want to relax, but don't want to go to sleep combine 2 drops each of lavender, orange, and cedarwood.
For release of nervous tension combine 2 drops each of bergamot, melissa, frankincense, and sandalwood.
Flower Essences: chamomile, dandelion, dill, lavender
The following aromatherapy blends are calming, and may put you to sleep.
Combine 10 drops of lavender and 5 drops of clary sage. In addition to using this in an essential oil diffuser or in the bath, you can place a drop or two on your pillow before going to sleep. Note: If you've been drinking don't use this mixture or any other containing clary sage. Also, this mixture shouldn't be used with children.
Flower Essences: Aspen (B), chamomile(F), lavender(F), Rescue Remedy (B)
A good calming blend for children is a combination of 10 drops of lavender with 5 drops of chamomile.
If sleep is generally a problem try combining 2 drops of chamomile, 4 drops of lavender, 5 of geranium, 3 of sandalwood, and 2 of lemongrass.
Flower Essences: Chamomile (F), Lavender (F), Rescue Remedy (B), White Chestnut (B), Aspen (B)
If you get professional massages take a bottle of your favorite essential oil blend with you to your next appointment.
If you are a professional massage therapist you might want to make up several of these aromatherapy combinations and give your clients a choice. They will surely appreciate this.
If neither of the above apply don't despair. Massage can be a special activity to share with your favorite person, and all of the blends below are suitable for self-massage. Combine 6 drops lavender, 4 drops chamomile, and 2 drops of vetiver in four ounces of a carrier oil. For self-massage, rub this into your temples.

Combine 4 drops each of peppermint, marjoram, fennel, and basil with one ounce of a carrier oil. Gently massage stomach and abdomen.
Flower Essences: Rescue Remedy (B), Chamomile (F).
Combine 3 drops each of chamomile, birch, rosemary, ginger, and lavender in 1 ounce of a carrier oil.
Flower Essences: Dandelion (F)
Combine 3 drops each of chamomile, ginger, birch, rosemary, and 12 drops of lavender in 1/2 ounce of sweet almond oil. For minor backaches you can cut these amounts in half.

Combine 4 drops ylang-ylang, 4 drops marjoram, and 3 drops jasmine.
Flower Essences: Larch (B), Buttercup (F)
Combine 4 drops cypress, 2 drops cedarwood and 2 drops sandalwood.
Flower Essences: Star of Bethlehem (B)
Combine 6 drops melissa, 4 drops bergamot, 2 drops lemongrass, and 2 drops lavender.
Or:
Combine 4 drops rosewood with 4 of patchouli.
Flower Essences: Scleranthus (B), Cerato (B).
This bath, which may also be helpful during allergy season, combines 5 drops eucalyptus, 5 drops peppermint, 4 of lavender. This can also be used in a diffuser or humidifier. It can also be put on a cotton ball and inhaled.
