Meeting the Power Animals

As I began to write this introductory page to our Power Animals section of Beyond the Rainbow two whitetail deer dashed through the backyard, a sight which I took as a blessing upon this project.

Deer is one of my partner, Joyce's, power animals. For years she visualized a home in the country where she could work at her computer, look out the window, and see the animal which symbolizes gentleness and unconditional love. That wish has been granted a thousand times over.

We may not all see wild animals on a regular basis, but our understanding and appreciation of their special energies can be an important part of our spiritual journeys. Here you'll find information designed to help in that understanding, as well as crystal and other power animals and totems.

Animal Tales

Hearing the Hummingbird he hummingbird's song is like our inner voices, that guidance that is so often lost in the swirl of noise that comes from the outside world. So often, we turn to those outer sounds to tell us what we should be doing, wanting, thinking.

What The Deer Taught Me The appearance of this graceful creature raised some questions - and taught me how to ask better ones.

Honoring Rudolph He had a very shiny nose, and its light could lead us to unsuspected discoveries.

Two Seasonal Tales Thoughts on the Ant and the Grasshopper and the relative importance of being and doing.

Butterflies: Wings of Change We humans can learn much from the butterfly's process of transformation.

Squirrel Medicine What I learned about sharing and love when I fed some New York City squirrels.

The Rabbit and the Deer Rabbit teaches us that what we fear will come to us, and Deer teaches the power of love. By calling on the power of both these animals I was able to transform fear into love.
