The Saturday of our Reiki weekend my brother was in the hospital receiving chemotherapy. When I visited him several weeks later I asked him if he wanted some hands on healing. Of course he said yes. I said I was going to give him a Reiki treatment. He became very excited and wanted to know the word I used. "Did you say Reiki?"
He told me that when he was in the hospital he became very nauseous from the chemotherapy and could not eat. Saturday (our Reiki day) he was half asleep, half awake, and he heard someone saying Reiki, Reiki, Reiki. When he heard me say the word Reiki it reminded him of the event in the hospital. Sunday he awoke with a good appetite, started eating, and was discharged to home.
We received a postcard from a student who had been touring as a musician ever since her Reiki I and II workshop. She wrote:
I've used Reiki every day since the workshop, either on myself, another or through long-distance healing. I used it on myself to heal a severer back injury when I had no access to a chiropractor. I've done long-distance healing on members of my band. They think I'm crazy, but this is the first tour in 4 years when no one has gotten sick! Thank you again!
I am very grateful for the door you opened, because Reiki is now part of my work. The seminar was fantastic for me. I learned a lot and it has changed my life. I live in the present and in truth.
This is hardly a scientific report, but it does suggest that even machines can experience Reiki.
I went to a science museum where there was an energy counter which had two metal plates at the front. With everybody who tried it the number climbed slowly up to 25. When it was my turn, the same thing happened. I suddenly thought I could try it with Reiki. I put my hands on the plates, and the counter smashed up to number 40 within half a second.
